Come join Miranda and Hunter for a full moon hike on March 14th from 7:30-9:30pm at Whitten Woods. March is the last full moon of winter and also happens to be a total solar eclipse - what better way to celebrate this than a group hike?
This will be a 2.0 mile out and back hike up fog hill trail in Moultonborough NH. We will get a good view of the moon at the top and have time to note which indigenous moon it is as well as noting the changes in the season towards spring. We will focus on the differences in season as we hike down.
We will be hiking Red Hill, a 3.5 mile round trip hike with stunning views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. Enjoy a steep climb with a fall vista that will make all your effort worth the while!
Join us as we hike 1.8 miles roundtrip up the south peak of Whitten Woods. Bring your camera to capture the beauty of Squam Lake. We will teach about some of the plants and animals in the area as well as exploring the gorgeous New Hampshire peaks.
Come join the SLA for a full moon hike on December 4th from 6-8pm at Whitten Woods. This is the last full moon of the year!
Looking for a reason to get outside on a winter morning? Join Lakes Region Conservation Corps members on a moderate 3 mile loop around Five Finger Point. Explore each cove and "finger" of this northern piece of Squam Lake. The Fiver Finger Point trail will give you a unique view of the lake from the shores of Squam.
Join Education and Outreach AmeriCorps member, Macie Kane, on an easy 1.9 mile loop hike through the Belknap Woods. It's a great time of year to get out and hike, but it's best to have company on a chilly winter day.
Join Diego and the LRCC for a fun, moderate 2.5-mile loop through Whitten Woods via the North Peak Trail. Just bring your winter gear, water, and positive energy for a great day on the trails!
Join LRCC member Kevin Jones, on a 2.4-mile loop around Chamberlin-Reynolds Memorial Forest. This winter hike will provide excellent views of squam lake and may provide the opportunity to walk out on the ice (conditions permitting)!
