    Art vs. Science

    June 1, 2025 @ 10:00 am–12:00 pm

    Join the Squam Lakes Association (SLA) on an exploration through Chamberlain Reynolds Memorial Forest on Sunday, June 1st from 10:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m. learning about scientific drawings. During the hike you will learn about the history and use of scientific drawing and be walked through the process of creating your own based on the surrounding environment.

    Volunteer: Water Quality Training

    June 1, 2025 @ 1:00 pm–4:00 pm

    The Squam Lakes Association's water-quality data set is the oldest in the northeast, and we need YOU to help keep it going. Volunteer water quality monitoring is a great way to get involved in the Squam community, get outside, and contribute to important research. Join LRCC members Hunter and Carolina to learn how to conduct water sampling.

    Join the Squam Lakes Association as we celebrate National Trails Day by maintaining Wentworth Trail to the summit of Mt Israel. National Trails Day recognizes the incredible benefits federal, state, and local trails provide for recreation and exposure to nature.

    Come join us as we learn about forest pathology! We will identify cankers, wilts, foliar diseases and some fungi on this 2.5 mile hike around Chamberlain Renyolds memorial forest.

    Join the Squam Lakes Association for an educational walk at Chamberlain Reynolds Memorial Forest. As we hike, we'll discuss the different benefits that our ecosystems provide. Being aware of the different ecosystems in the watershed and what they provide is important for how we appreciate and protect them. This is a great program for anyone looking to learn more about their surroundings and think more about the ways we interact with the environment.

    Think Like a Fish: Seasonal Fish Behavior

    June 28, 2025 @ 8:30 am

    Soon enough, anglers will return to Squam Lake by water and by shore to target large and small-mouth bass for their spring spawn. But have you ever wondered why these fish start bedding now? Or how they spent their winter? Come join us at the Squam Lakes Association for a roughly 2-mile kayak trip around Piper’s Cove and learn about how the seasons affect fish behavior.

    Volunteer: Water Quality Day

    June 29, 2025 @ 9:30 am–3:00 pm

    Join us for a boat ride on Squam Lake to help collect a water column sample at Moultonborough Bay as part of our summer water-quality monitoring program. We will learn about how the SLA monitors Squam by completing a set of measurements together and then enjoy a lunch on Bowman Island.
