VOLUNTEER: National Trails Day

This annual celebration, organized by the American Hiking Society, encourages people to get outdoors, participate in trail maintenance, and advocate for the protection of trails and public lands.

VOLUNTEER: Water Quality Excursion

Join Lakes Region Conservation Corps (LRCC) members on a water quality excursion on Squam Lake! Learn about how to take water quality data and how it contributes to our long term monitoring of Squam Lakes.

Arboretum Tour

Join Lakes Region Conservation Corps Member Chloe at Squam Lakes Association (SLA) for an arboretum tour and mindfulness workshop. Immerse yourself in the SLA campus’s Community Arboretum while learning how to identify common New England tree species and care for native fruit trees. We will also explore our own connection to nature through guided mindfulness activities inspired by the arboretum.

VOLUNTEER: Weed Watchers

The Weed Watchers volunteer program enables anyone to help protect our lakes against the spread of invasive species by becoming an extra pair of eyes on the lake to spot and report potential invasions. After this training session, you will be able to look for invasive species like variable milfoil on your own and know how to report sightings on Squam as an official Weed Watcher!

Annual Meeting

Join us on Saturday, August 1, 2026, for the Squam Lakes Association’s Annual Meeting. We’ll share updates on our work to protect Squam Lake, highlight accomplishments from the past year, and look ahead to what’s next.
