(CANCELED) Earth Day Meteor Shower Viewing & Campfire
April 22 @ 8:30 pm–10:00 pm

This week's program
Want a fun and relaxing evening to celebrate Earth Day? Join us April 22nd from 8:30 - 10:00 PM at the SLA for a bonfire with stargazing and s’mores! This casual event will focus around our appreciation for Earth and the natural world around us by observing the cosmos. Late April is the best viewing time for the Lyrids meteor shower, a spring stargazing spectacle with upwards of 15-20 comets an hour! To finish off the evening, we will be making s’mores to be served with hot chocolate. We hope you can join us for a short, but fun evening event on a special holiday at the SLA.
Registration is required for this free event. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

What to bring
Late April can still be plenty chilly at night! Please bring warm layers for standing or sitting outside for an extended period of time. If you would like to stargaze while looking for comets, it can also be helpful to download stargazing apps to your phone. A red light headlamp and camp chair may also be helpful, but not required.
