Join the Squam Lakes Association’s Lakes Region Conservation Corps member Meg as we take a walk back in time at Five Finger Point. Using the book Reading the Forested Landscape: A Natural History of New England by Tom Wessels, we will have a beautiful fall hike on the moderately difficult 2.7-mile loop trail, and stop at different spots to talk about the history of the land and passages from the book.
All ages are welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration is required for this free event.
Location
Five Finger Point (meet @ SLA)
Parking is limited at this location, so we encourage participants to arrive at the SLA campus at 9:20 am so we can carpool to the trailhead.
Participants are encouraged to bring and wear appropriate attire, including appropriate footwear that you don’t mind getting dirty. You should also bring enough food and water for the duration of the program; there will be a break for lunch, during which we will stop to sit and read a chapter from the book. If participants have a copy of this book, they are more than welcome to bring it along!
