Stone Wall Walk
Did you know New England has around 240,000 miles of old stone walls? Join us Saturday, October 24th, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM for a short and informative hike all about Squam Lake’s stone walls. LRCC member Kevin Jones will be prompting your investigation skills as you explore the forest for clues about how and why stone walls were crafted. This walk will combine local history and forest ecology to better understand the natural and built landscape of the region.
