Mushroom Walk

October 9 @ 10:00 am–12:00 pm
Explore the beauty of the fall foliage while learning about the fascinating world of mushrooms. Join Pollyanna for a leisurely walk through the woods as we look for and learn to identify mushrooms and other fungi along the way. The SLA will not be providing any assurance on mushroom edibility. Mushrooms can only be positively identified by a professional mycologist; therefore, any foraging will be the assumed risk of the participant.

This program is open to all; however, all children must be accompanied by an adult. We will meet at 9:45 at the SLA parking lot.
Registration is required for this free event.
Space limited to 12 participants

Location:

534 US-Route 3, Holderness, NH
The Squam Lakes Association is dedicated to conserving for public benefit the natural beauty, peaceful character and resources of the watershed. In collaboration with local and state partners the SLA promotes the protection, careful use and shared enjoyment of the lakes, mountains, forests, open spaces and wildlife of the Squam Lakes Region.

What to bring

Please bring comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots, water, weather-appropriate clothing, and a small basket or bag for observing mushrooms. A magnifying glass or camera is optional.
