Breaking it Down: Compost 101
April 13 @ 10:00 am–12:00 pm

Today's Adventure Ecology:
Come to the Squam Lakes Association (SLA) headquarters on April 13th from 10:00am – 12:00pm to learn all about composting. Lakes Region Conservation Corp (LRCC) member Miranda Fisher will be running a drop-in composting workshop during that time. She will be explaining how composting works, its benefits, and have resources to get your own compost up and running.
Composting is a great way to engage in conservation in your own backyard. While it may not seem directly related to preserving the Squam Lakes watershed, composting is a very beneficial practice and is a great way for everyone to engage in conservation. Food waste, and the processing of it, is a bigger issue than you might realize. By composting you can be cognizant of this while also improving soil quality and reducing the impact of food waste.
All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by adults.
What to bring
Participants should come prepared in shoes they don't mind getting a little dirty. Otherwise, no materials are needed!
