Smart Outdoor Practices for Hunting Season

Hunting season has begun in New Hampshire. If you’re heading out on the trails, or enjoying the woods, please be sure to wear bright colors (blaze orange is best), keep pets visible, and stay aware of your surroundings.

Here’s a simplified look at the Fall 2025 hunting seasons:

  • September – March: Various hunting seasons for bear, waterfowl, small game, and furbearers (dates vary by species and region)
  • September 15 – December 15: Deer (archery) and fall turkey (archery)
  • October 1 – December 31: Pheasant season
  • October 18 – 26: Moose season (permit only)
  • October 25 – 26: Youth deer-hunting weekend
  • November 1 – 11: Deer (muzzleloader) season
  • November 12 – December 7: Deer (regular firearms) season
