Beginner Belay Clinic

September 19 @ 10:00 am12:00 pm

Today's Adventure Ecology:

Ready to get off the ground and try something new? Join the Squam Lakes Association for a beginner top-rope belay clinic and learn the essential skills you need to get started with rock climbing!

In this introductory clinic, we’ll cover the basics of climbing safety, including how to properly put on and secure a harness, tie in, set up a belay device, use climbing commands, and safely belay a climber. Participants will have plenty of opportunities to practice these skills with guidance from an instructor, as well as get on the wall and experience a little climbing themselves!

No prior climbing experience is necessary; just come ready to learn, practice, and try something new. This clinic is designed to give participants an introduction to the fundamentals of top-rope climbing and belaying, but it is not a certification course. Additional practice and instruction with a qualified climbing professional is recommended before climbing or belaying independently.

This program is for ages 12 and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration is required for this free event.

Location:

534 US-Route 3, Holderness, NH
