Location: Chamberlain Reynolds Memorial Forest West Parking Lot, College Rd, Center Harbor, NH 03226, USA. Click Here for a Google Map.

What's a StoryWalk® ? A StoryWalk®  is a fun, educational activity that places a children’s story (literally a book taken apart) along a popular walking route in your community, in this case Chamberlain Reynolds. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the VT Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.

We hope you enjoy Marion Dane Bauer's story where you will meet a variety of animals who are busy preparing for winter. Discover how fox decides to celebrate the coming of the snow. Richard Jones' beautiful illustrations bring this forest community to life. As you walk along while reading the story, remember to look for animal signs along the trail!

Innisfree Bookshop in Meredith, NH generously offered a discount on the books for this StoryWalk®. They have copies available if you enjoyed the story and want to read it again and again. Support your local bookstores!

Holderness Free Library has created take and make craft sets to go along with the theme of the book. Give them a call to schedule a time to pick up your craft set! They also generously donated the books!

The Squam Lakes Natural Science Center offers a variety of live animal programs year round (including virtual programs) and has spectacular live animal exhibits May 1- November 1 so visit their website to see what great programs they have and to learn more about NH's wildlife!

The SLA maintains the trails that you enjoyed hiking at Chamberlain Reynolds Memorial Forests and also offers a variety of adventure ecology programs throughout the year exploring a variety of nature topics. Thanks to LRCC member, Kodi, who spearheaded this StoryWalk® project!
