SUMMARY:Why Knot?
DESCRIPTION:Today's Adventure Ecology\n\nWhat do a secure tent\, a sturdy boat line\, and a lifesaving rescue all have in common? Knots! Join the Squam Lakes Association for a hands-on program where we’ll practice the age-old tradition of knots! We’ll start with the basics\, learning both how to tie a knot and its many functions\, and after practicing\, we’ll put our new skills to the test. Working as a team\, we’ll design and build a functional tarp shelter\, using our knots to create a structure that’s both strong and adaptable. You’ll leave with practical knowledge\, hands-on experience\, and a set of knots you can use in your own outdoor adventures.This program is for ages 12 and up. She recently graduated from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry with a degree in environmental biology. She loves hiking\, rock climbing\, and a good sunset. She enjoys sharing her love of nature with others and is excited to share it with you!When she's not outside\, you can find her under a cozy blanket reading or crafting.
