Extra layers\, comfortable water resistant hiking shoes\, and snowshoes and/or microspikes may be needed depending on conditions. The SLA can provide snowshoes & microspikes for up to six participants. Other snow hiking gear may be available upon request.Not sure what to pack? Kyle will have been in his role at the SLA for 2 years come January\, but he first came to New Hampshire to join the SLA as an intern in 2015. After the internship\, he was a camp counselor for the JSLA program\, JSLA camp director\, and was an AmeriCorps member in 2018 before working as a Naturalist at the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center. Now back at the SLA\, you can find Kyle skating on the ice in the winter\, looking for animal tracks\, or bundled up near a fire with a science fiction book.
