Ashland, NH Proposes Waste to Energy Facility

The Town of Ashland, New Hampshire has proposed a waste to energy incineration facility that would generate electricity for the municipal electric department, with any excess power to be sold to the New England power grid. Waldron Engineering would build the plant. A trash incinerator plant is a waste management facility that burns household trash to produce electricity.

Update as of 2/2/2024

The Waste to Energy warrant article was seeking $135,000,000. During a deliberative session on Saturday, February 2, 2024 a motion was made to change the bond value to $1 which passed after an anonymous vote. For now, this effectively stops the waste to energy facility from moving forward.
